Thai Visual Arts in the Elementary Classroom

After King Rama VI or Rama VI, the three pillars, which are together the Thai society - nation, religion and the monarchy. Despite the technology, economic and scientific progress, is based on its distinct cultural identity that the world recognizes, Thailand. Therefore, it is necessary to increase the awareness of cultural heritage and promote pride in being a Thai among children and adolescents. The concept of art education in Thailand has focused on developingpersonal and creative instincts and styles among children. § 23 under the National Education Act is intended to nine years of compulsory schooling, that knowledge of history, houses of culture, traditions, art forms and sports of Thailand.

Art is a central component of the curriculum in elementary school. These include three main forms of art such as visual arts, performing arts and music. The main objective of art education of elementary school in Thailand is to make childrenknowledge of various art forms and their cultural heritage. It aims to educate children about the benefits of forms of art that expresses the feelings of people of different cultures.

Many educators believe that students are Asian, including Thais, passive participation, in the context of teaching in the school. Classroom, emphasizes the description of an art form, rather than encouraging children to create their own. For these children prefer to remain silent andFeel free to ask questions. The curriculum is aimed at developing a passion for the child to appreciate an art form and to use the perspective of real life. The development of a creative mind of all art is of paramount importance. Through creativity, we are able to create their own identity in society. Teachers should try to drink this idea in the minds of children.
